Google Search Console is a free web service that gives you direct insight into how Googlebot sees and indexes your website. Unlike third-party tools that estimate data, GSC provides actual data from Google — making it the most authoritative source of SEO performance information available.
Performance Report
Shows clicks, impressions, average position, and CTR for every keyword your site ranks for. Filter by query, page, country, device, and date. This is the primary tool for identifying keyword opportunities, declining rankings, and high-impression/low-click issues.
URL Inspection Tool
Allows you to check the index status of any specific URL. See when Google last crawled it, whether it is in the index, any crawl errors, and what Google's rendered version looks like. Use this to troubleshoot indexing problems and request indexing for new or updated pages.
Coverage Report
Shows all URLs Google has crawled and their index status: Valid (indexed), Valid with warnings, Excluded (not indexed and why), and Errors (crawl failures). The Errors tab identifies critical issues requiring immediate attention.
Core Web Vitals Report
Shows real-world field data for LCP, INP, and CLS across all URLs on your site, categorized as Good, Needs Improvement, or Poor. Identifies specific URL groups that need optimization.
Rich Results and Schema Reports
Under "Enhancements," GSC shows which structured data types are detected, any schema validation errors, and how many rich results are being generated. Essential for monitoring FAQ, Review, Article, and other schema implementations.
Links Report
Shows your top linked pages (internal and external), top linking sites, and anchor text distribution. Use this alongside third-party tools like Ahrefs to understand your backlink profile.
